SUTRO BATHS MAPPING
BACKGROUND:
Opened in San Francisco, California in the late 19th century, Sutro Baths was the world's largest indoor swimming pool establishment. Since then, the site has been redeveloped into other programs and ultimately, was abandoned just before the turn of the 21th century. It now stands in ruins.
RESULT:
In this mapping, I recorded vital information to the land such as tidal wave movement, key vantage points, topography, itinerary, wind, sun, and past and present occupancy.
The idea of this mapping was to create a visual fingerprint of the land; in other words - a drawing that encapsulates our recently known history of this particular location.
All layers were done PHYSICALLY, scanned, and then overlayed on photoshop.
