FORM DERIVED FROM NATURE
ASSIGNMENT:

PROJECT GOAL:
A museum that allows for various intriguing moments of interaction and connection with a blue whale skeleton. From awe, to intimacy, to relation of its sense of weightless freedom in the big blue sea. All to arise the question of how us humans can embody that limitlessness in our lives as well.
PROCESS:
- Create a 2D diagrammatic drawing from the natural proportions of a Blue Whale’s skeleton.
Make a 3D expression from the 2D drawing.
RESULT:
- A whale that protrudes out of its man-made place, creating an exhibition space that brings the Blue Whale skeleton back to its once awakened state.
DETAILS:
- The grand staircase directly beneath the whale allows people below to behold its magnitude, doubling as a space for both movement and dwelling.
- The second level is fluid and circular, allowing for sights all around, both less-personal, and intimate.
- The third level looks out towards the horizon in the same direction of the whale. This evokes introspection into what freedom really means.
